Founded in 1946, Kingsley Field Fire Department started with a single hose cart and a small group of dedicated firefighters. From these humble beginnings, the Department has forged a lasting presence in the community. Kingsley Field Fire Department is comprised of 21 career firefighters and the Fire Chief responding from one station located in the Kingsley Field Air National Guard.
The Kingsley Field Fire Department recognizes the value of a comprehensive fire prevention effort -- especially as the District continues to experience steep increases in population growth and commercial development. The Department's Fire Prevention Bureau conducts 900 new construction inspections each year and actively implements annual weed abatement and fireworks enforcement campaigns. Additionally, the Department's Public Education Division coordinates a number of fire safety activities each year including the Department's annual fire station open house, the "Change Your Smoke Detector Batteries" Campaign, and a budding partnership with the Klamath Unified School District to teach children in grades K-3 from the National Fire Protection Association's Learn Not To Burn curriculum.
Through these and other efforts, the Kingsley Field Fire Department maintains its commitment to protecting the lives, property and environment from fire and other natural and man-made disasters and emergencies in a courteous, timely and effective manner.
